Sometimes the church is like that moving sidewalk. Saved by God’s grace, we find a fellowship of like-minded people. But sadly many times we do not move forward. Only as each member exercises his or her gifts can we together make progress, serving the world that Christ died to save. The urgent mandate of that airport traveler is the same mandate our Savior utters to every Christian. When we are paralyzed by a status-quo, stand-still mentality, Christ says, “Walk!” Prayer
Dear Lord, move us to take personal responsibility and to progress toward being the people you want us to be. Amen.
